Two Effective Home Remedies For Hair Loss

Photobucket

Here is a little hair loss home remedy you can try that will stop your hair loss and hardly cost you anything. These home remedies for hair loss have worked for many people and they can work for you too.

Starting with you guys out there, you need to reduce the amount of DHT in your body. DHT is the hormone that testosterone turns into when it has been broken down in the body. Women you have this same male hormone in your body as well but it is not as present as it is in men, which is why you see more balding men then you do women. Women get thinning hair and the main cause is DHT.

DHT is a complete rival against your hair and is responsible for your sudden hair loss and thinning hair depending on your situation. It binds to hair follicle cells and subsequently weakens them till your hair drops out completely over time. You don’t realize this is going on until old friends kindly point it out to you with a comment or two about your thinning hair that is getting thinner and thinner. Also you may notice more and more hair in your sink. This can only be done from the inside so an expensive topical solution will not help you that much.

Here are two natural home hair loss remedies do work and have been proven in clinical test studies.

  1. To undoubtedly and efficiently stop you hair loss problems, start incorporating 1,500 mg of saw palmetto extract together with 4 cups of green tea in your every day diet. These 2 typical elements have been clinically proven to stop DHT without giving you those unpleasant side effects that are common in prescription hair loss treatments.
  2. Another tip that everyone is capable of doing right at home is a scalp massage. Your follicle roots want a steady flow of blood in order to create hair. Without excellent blood circulation, you are cutting off essential supplies that are required for hair growth. Just massage your scalp in thinning spaces for 15 minutes on a daily basis and you will increase the circulation to the follicle and allow the blood stream to deliver the Saw Palmetto.

These are not the only natural home remedies for hair loss. There are many other vitamins for hair loss that you can take naturally that directly affect the hair follicle. Also just as important are minerals for hair loss . Minerals like magnesium and Zinc play important rolls in maintaining healthy hair follicles.

If you want to get all the required vitamins and minerals proven to stop hair loss you may want to consider a proven hair loss supplement .

The Required Vitamins For Hair Loss

Before I explain the required vitamins for hair loss, first let me explain really quick about the hair follicle and how it grows or stops growing.

Each follicle has a dermal papilla, which is responsible for our hair growth. The main cell of the dermal papilla gathers nutrients and vitamins for hair loss that are brought to it through the blood stream. If the follicle cannot get the nutrients it needs, it tends to reproduce at a slower rate and this in turn either shortens the growing phase called Anagen or lengthens its resting stage called the Catagen phase.

This starving (miniaturization) of the follicle will shrink the hair follicle causing it to become smaller and finer and eventually fall out. This is noticed when you look in the mirror or even more embarrassing a friend tells you. You will notice things like more hair in the sink or in the hairbrush or even on your furniture. So you see It is very important for a person to have the required vitamins for hair loss in the diet to maintain your hair.

Hair loss occurs when the diet is inadequate in the B vitamins - especially B6, biotin, inositol and folic acid; and the minerals magnesium, sulfur and zinc. The B vitamins, especially B5 (pantothenic acid and B3 (niacin), are especially important for hair growth.

Certain essential amino acids are found to control the thinning and thickening of hair in laboratory animals. For example, when rats were fed a diet deficient in magnesium, they lost their hair in bunches. The situation was even more serious with some other B-vitamins. When rats were fed a diet low in biotin or inositol, they became hairless! This nutrient-deficient condition was found to be reversible. When the rats were fed a diet that was rich in B vitamins, it resulted in the complete restoration of hair.

Heavy intake of regular, everyday vitamin supplements, in some cases, have resulted in stimulating hair growth so it is recommended to take hair loss vitamin supplements. Men deficient in vitamin B6 often lose their hair. When they are deficient in folic acid, some men became completely bald! As in case of animals, when normal intake of theses vitamins were restored, the hair also returned in most instances.

Taking large doses of vitamin A (100,000 IU or more daily) for a long period of time, on the other hand, can trigger hair loss, but stopping the overdoses of vitamin A will certainly reverse the problem. As in case of deficiencies, often the hair grows back when the cause is corrected.

Essential fatty acids (flaxseed oil, primrose oil, and salmon oil are good sources) improves hair texture. Prevents dry, brittle hair.

Raw thymus glandular stimulates immune function and improves functioning capacity of glands.

Try to include these main vitamins for hair loss in your natural diet.

1. Vitamin A

Vitamin A is needed to produce sebum (Scalp oil). Without sebum the hair becomes dry hair, you develop dandruff and a most cases a thick scalp. All of those symptoms could potentially cause you hair loss. Also did you know that studies show aspirin second hand smoke and some prescription drugs could prevent Vitamin A absorption contributing to hair loss.

Be careful because having too much sebum will transfers DHT to the hair follicle and block the hair follicles again causing hair loss.

Vitamin A is found in Mangos, Oranges, Carrots, Sweet potato, Squash and liver.

2. Vitamin B

Vitamin B helps with hemoglobin, which brings oxygen to the scalp in the red blood cells. The main B vitamins that contribute to hair growth and hair loss are Vitamin B-6 and Folic Acid.

Vitamin B-6 is found in fish and seafood, poultry and meats, beans and peas, Potatoes, ready to eat cereals, Bananas, Oatmeal, eggs.

Folic Acid is found in cooked lentils, collard greens, chickpeas, medium papaya, frozen peas, and boiled asparagus.

3. Vitamin C

Vitamin C is responsible for the healthy development of collagen, which is necessary for strong hair.

Vitamin C is found in citrus fruits, Oranges, Kiwi fruit, Guava, Red sweet peppers.

4. Vitamin E

Vitamin E is needed for good blood circulation to the scalp, it increases the absorption of oxygen.

Vitamin E is found in Vegetable oils, Safflower Oil, Corn Oil, Soybean Oil, nuts Turnip greens and other green leafy vegetables are the main dietary sources. Fortified cereals are also an important source for Vitamin E.

With a proper diet you can get all these hair loss vitamins naturally, but for most of us taking a daily vitamin will ensure proper hair growth, and help prevent hair loss.

*Recommended PROVEN and Most Popular hair loss vitamins: Provillus Men Pills, Provillus Women Pills, Advecia Pills, Procerin Pills and the all NEW Trichozed. All have worked great and have clinical data to back them up.

Hair Loss News - A balanced diet is the key to good hair

Photobucket

In Bangalore, it seems to be a household problem. DNA's Soumita Majumdar chats with Dr Anil Abraham, consultant dermatologist and trichologist, Abraham's Skin and Hair Clinic and head of dermatology, St John's Medical College

Hospital, about solutions to reduce hair loss .

Why is hair loss so common in Bangalore? Is the weather responsible?

The problem of hair loss seems to be assuming alarming proportions. Compared to our OPD statistics of a few years ago, hair loss both in women and children seems to have risen by about 20-30 per cent over five years. However, it is not just the weather that causes the loss. A poor diet, parlour procedures like colouring and straightening, commuting, work stress, long hours at work, altered sleep patterns and increasing pollution all result in hair loss.

What are the other hair related problems that people complain about?

Early greying, brittle and coarse hair are other common complaints. But the single most common one is "Doctor, I am becoming bald!" Hair loss due to patches of hair falling out is called Alopecia Areata. Another fairly common clinical problem is where a bald patch suddenly appears.

Doc, can you suggest an ideal diet to ensure reduced hair loss? Is there a vitamin supplement for this?

A balanced diet is ideal for good health and good hair too. It is important that fad diets be avoided. I have often seen people who have lost significant weight coming with complaints of severe hair loss. If you need to lose weight and keep your hair, frequent smaller meals, with less junk food, sweets and oil is a sensible solution, in addition to regular exercise. Biotin is often prescribed for healthy hair or it recommended you get all the required hair loss vitamins .

For those with anaemia, an iron supplement may be helpful. Palak, sprouts and an occasional handful of dry fruits are hair-healthy supplements.

Hair transplant is the last option. But what are the new treatments available for hair loss?

Hair transplant is a good option for significant hair loss -- not always the last option. But the basis of all successful management of hair loss should be to treat the cause. One patient may need treatment of a thyroid problem, another may need stress reduction and exercise, while yet another may need iron or zinc supplements. Tailoring treatment to suit the individual needs of each patient works best. A trichogram or phototrichogram will help to analyse the problem and blood tests may be carried when required. Treatments range from intralesional injections to surgical intervention.

Hair Genesis In Canada

Photobucket

Can't get Hair Genesis in Canada ? Yes you can, Hair Genesis is now available in Canada from keepmyhair.ca, Canada’s #1 source for proven hair loss treatments.

After more than twelve years of clinical use, Hair Genesis has been widely appreciated as the safest and most effective hair loss treatment remedy available for balding men and women with thinning hair in USA now has come to Canada.

Hair Genesis has recently developed a new active formula it calls Generation IV Maximum Strength.  Validated by peer-reviewed, university-based, published research, this patent-pending active composition incorporates thiocti c acid, a patented form of acetyl L carnitine (Carnisol®), LSESr (most potent form of saw palmetto extract) and beta-sitosterol into a truly unique hair loss treatment system.  Importantly, aside from Hair Genesis, no other hair treatment formula (either drug or non-drug based) can demonstrably show that it operates through a dual-mechanism. Here's why this is important.

Because pattern hair loss is described as a polygenic disorder, there are multiple factors acting to damage affected scalp hair.  Since there is more than one precipitating cause for pattern hair loss, to get the best treatment results, logically, there should also be more than one treatment method used.

Combining potent anti-inflammatory agents to protect the hair follicle with proven naturally-derived DHT inhibitors, Generation IV Hair Genesis goes where no hair loss treatment has gone before.  Developed by a Ph.D. scientist with almost twenty years experience in the field, new Generation IV Hair Genesis treats pattern hair loss in a brand new way.

In 1995, the creator of Hair Genesis, Dr. Geno Marcovici began research into testing natural substances for their ability to ameliorate pattern hair loss.  At the time, the goal was to mimic the DHT-inhibition benefit of the drug based options without engendering the drug based negative side effect profile.   In 2002, a peer reviewed clinical study showed that Hair Genesis was the first naturally-derived formula to demonstrate safety and efficacy under IRB-monitored, placebo-controlled conditions.

In 2006, Marcovici's team, in collaboration with university-based researchers began work to identify the most important of these factors.  After careful investigation, certain inflammatory processes were found to be critically important.  A series of formulas were tested culminating in the creation and development of a dual-mechanism formula, christened Generation IV maximum strength Hair Genesis.  Tested under the most sophisticated academic methodology, this formula showed highly positive activity.  The results of this work were submitted and subsequently accepted for publication in a well respected peer reviewed Medical Journal.

After our thorough hair loss product review the NEW Generation IV Maximum Strength Hair Genesis was brought into Canada and added to our selection of hair loss treatments that was once only found in the USA. Canadian can now have a better selection of hair loss treatment options.

A Quick Hair Loss And Stress Test

A really simple test that you can do at home to check to see if there is a relationship between stress and hair loss for you can be done in seconds.

Follow these simple steps,

1. Grab a small portion of your hair, just enough to fit into a drinking straw, so around 60 strands of hair.

2. Now we need to pulls some hair out. Holding firmly on the hair, slowly pull just lightly all the way until you no longer have your hair anymore BUT keep holding on to the hairs that you pulled out.

3. Count how many hairs you pulled out.

4. There should be between 0 - 10 hairs between your fingers. If there is more then 10 then you may have hair loss caused by stress.

Keep in mind that your hair my be in the Catagen phase of the hair growth cycle which means your hair is falling out naturally so there is nothing to worry about. If you pulled out more then 10 strands stress could very well be a contributing factor also and usually is because the Catagen phase only last around 1 - 2 weeks.

You should either be eating right or using a hair loss vitamin and as I always tell everyone make sure they are Proven Hair Loss Vitamins

Stop Thinning Hair Before It All Falls Out

Thinning Hair in Men Thinning Hair Men

Most hair loss treatment do not focus on the receding hair line because it is very hard to stop hair loss in this area of the scalp. Thinning hair starts when a testosterone called dyhydrotestosterone (DHT) begins to choke the follicle and starving it of the required nutrients it needs to grow hair. DHT travels to the hair follicle through the blood stream mainly and attaches itself to the tiny receptors that feed the follicle from the inside. The next problem that causes thinning hair is Sebum, this is the oily substance that the scalp produces and is required to keep out hair soft and shinny. DHT also excretes onto the scalp within the Sebum and starts to clog the follicle from the outside, now you hair hasn’t got a chance.

Thinning HairThinning Hair in Women

Fact is 40% of women over the age of 40 will be experiencing hair thinning.

The causes of thinning hair in women are a bit different and a bit more complicated then men. Women start to see thinning hair all over the scalp while men displays a definite pattern, usually in the receding hairline or the vertex. There can be many causes for thinning hair in woman and it is important to do some research or consult your doctor to get a diagnosis before wasting your money to treat the condition. Certain conditions such as pregnancy, childbirth, overactive thyroid and menopause can affect the hormone balance and these can all contribute to thinning hair. Other factors that can cause thinning hair in women can be everyday grooming and the use of extreme hair treatments such as colorants, perms and hot oil treatments. These can have a reaction to the scalp causing damage to the hair follicles themselves.

Stop Thinning Hair Before It Leads To Hair Loss

The earlier the better is the key to stopping thinning hair. Thinking of a house fire, if it’s a small fire in the kitchen you can renovate and get your kitchen back. If the fire isn’t put out soon enough then there is nothing you can do but tear down the whole house. When hair is thinning it can be stopped and in some cases if the follicle is not completely dead it can be revived. Once the hair follicle is dead there is really no chance of reviving it to get it back again.

Available Treatments For Thinning Hair

There are a many different hair loss treatments and re-growth treatments available for both men and women these days but you have to be careful what you are buying. Not all hair loss products are proven to regrow hair or even stop hair from becoming thinner. Always look for a proven hair loss treatment like Advecia, TrichoZed and ProFollica have been proven to work on the receding hair line but also work for women with thinning hair. Products like Provillus for men , Provillus for women and Procerin focus on thinning hair and for men specifically the vertex of the scalp..

Treatments can come as a topical solution that is applied right to the scalp directly or a supplement that is taken daily.

One of the main treatments that can stop thinning hair and stimulate growth is a topical solution containing an ingredient called Minoxidil. Minoxidil is known as the brand name Rogain and is FDA approved to stop thinning hair and regrow hair.

There are also several shampoos for thinning hair that work by removing damaging chemicals left by hair sprays and the DHT found in the Sebum. Hair vitamin supplements are the most popular choice because there are usually no side effects and they provide the body with all the required vitamins that have been proven to stop hair loss, such  B6, biotin, magnesium, saw palmetto and horsetail.

Prescription medication such as Finasteride, and Minoxidil 5% are clinically proven to stop thinning hair but only works for men and these do have unpleasant side effects such as scalp irritation or sexual side effects.

Disguising Thinning Hair

It is always recommended to use any hair thinning or hair loss treatment for a min of 6 – 12 months before results can be seen. During this period there are a few proven products and techniques that can be used to make the existing hair look thicker and healthier. Mirage hair building fibers is new product that is sprayed on the thinning areas and instantly your hair becomes thicker. Hair loss conditioners can thicken the hair shafts by as much as 300% and blow drying hair can also be used to make thinning hair look allot thicker.

Hair loss treatments are now much more effective than they were even five years ago and it is now possible to stop thinning hair in the majority of all cases.

One Reason for Women To Loose Hair Is Menopause

Women will loose hair with menopause

hair menopause

There are many reasons for hair loss and one reason for women to loose their hair is menopause.

Most men and women will naturally experience some type of hair loss, as they get older. But age, changing hormones and heredity cause some to lose more hair than others. The result can be thinning hair to total baldness, known as alopecia (al-o-PEE-she-uh).

Menopause slows the rate at which the female hormone estrogen and androgen are produced and there is actually less estrogen being created then there is androgen and it it’s this imbalance that initiates hair loss.

Women need more of the female hormone estrogen to keep hair growing on their heads, which is why more men suffer from hair loss then women. All women have the male hormone testosterone, which reacts with an enzyme called 5 alpha-reductase to create another hormone called DHT, or DiHydrotestosterone, which strangles the hair follicle and keeps hair from growing your head.

Anything that affects estrogen levels will affect how well your hair grows. Most women, who are struggling with menopause, see many different symptoms, including thinning hair, have turned to hormone replacement therapy, or HRT. The dangers here is that HRT has many side effects, including an increased risk of cancer, heart disease, blood clots, and strokes. A study conducted by the National Institute of Health back in 1991 by the to determine benefits and risks of HRT was cancelled in 2002, after it was found that HRT increased a woman's chances of developing ovarian cancer and breast cancer.

Because there is a relationship between hair loss and menopause what can be done about it?

Some home remedies recommendations that can help:

Start eating more fruits and vegetables and ensure the hair follicles are getting the proper nutrients needed to support healthy hair. See hair loss vitamins.

Reduce the amount of chemicals you put on your hair. Try switching to botanical hair care products.

Protecting you hair from the sun, which can stress your hair.

Hair loss treatment options:

Topical 2% minoxidil. This is applied it twice a day to your scalp. Results are usually seen after 5 - 6 months. It’s recommended to take a DHT blocking, hair vitamin along with the minoxidil to provide the follicle with the required nutrients and remove DHT. This will reverses the shrinking process of hair follicles and encourages hair growth.

Hair replacement systems. Although this method is very expensive and works best for women with mild to moderate hair loss. You must have healthy scalp to have this procedure done.

Wigs and hair weaves.

You may want look into Soy isoflavones which have estrogenic effects (without the risk of synthetic HRT) and have helped many women's hair thinning problems.

Talk to your doctor about bio-identical hormone replacements.

Eyebrow Hair Loss Caused By Stress

eyebrow hair loss

I just received an email for a girl asking what can done about her eyebrow hair loss so I include the response below and I hope it may help others with the same problem.

There are many causes for eyebrow hair loss but if your sure the cause of your eyebrow hair loss is due to stress then your first treatment is not only to stop stress related activities but to ensure your hair follicles are getting the required nutrients needed to grow the hair back. I’m not going to try to pump products here as you can start eating more vitamins 4 hair loss, as I call them, you can see a list here.

The problem is that most of us are busy and although we try to eat right we just don’t have time so I usually recommend a hair loss vitamin supplement that can be taken twice a day then you are sure to not only get the required vitamins but the specific nutrients required by the follicle to regrow hair.

First here are some home remedies for eyebrow hair loss you can try.

  1. Apply Castor oil on the eyebrow and leave on overnight this will encourage thick growth of eyebrow hair.
  2. Warm coconut oil and olive oil can be applied to the eyebrow also and leave overnight as well.

These home remedies do take some time before you may see results but have been reported to be very effective.

Now with that being said, doctors have recommended minoxidil 2% (Found in the Provillus for women kits).  The kit comes with an eye dropper but you should apply 1 small drop to your finger tip and then carefully apply a thin layer on your eyebrow making sure you do not get any in your eyes, trust me it stings (If you do flush with water). This should be done twice a day and the kit comes with hair loss pills that are taken twice a day also. The pills are a hair loss vitamin supplement that will give you everything you need to encourage hair growth.
